ADAPT publishes 2016 Annual Report

Limerick voluntary organisation ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services has published its 2016 Annual Report.




ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services supported over 1,000 women and children in 2016.


The figure is contained in ADAPT's newly published Annual Report for 2016.


ADAPT is a support service for women survivors of domestic abuse and their children. Located in Limerick City, ADAPT provides a range of services including 24 hour helpline support; emergency refuge accommodation; outreach services; emotional and practical support for women and children.


ADAPT also works with other agencies to enhance their understanding of domestic abuse and their capacity to recognise, respond and refer appropriately.


In 2016, ADAPT supported 828 women and 248 children by providing a wide range of services - refuge based services and outreach services.


ADAPT Domestic Abuse Service provides 24 hour access to emergency refuge accommodation for women survivors of domestic abuse and their children.


In 2016, 112 individual women accessed refuge, while 182 individual children were admitted to refuge, and 8 adult dependents.


ADAPT also provides 3 outreach clinics in the county but support workers are available to meet women anywhere in the county that is safe and accessible to the women.


In 2016, 317 women used the outreach service.
