  • in their third or final year and who have completed at least one other placement
  • requesting a block placement of at least 8 weeks (with the exception of Early Childhood Education students)
  • with a particular interest in the work of ADAPT
  • where the college/training centre has a clear structure to facilitate and support the placement; including an identified placement officer to link with ADAPT
  • LIT - Applied Social Studies students have to apply via the LIT Student Placement Officer ; not directly to ADAPT
  • where the sponsoring body provides appropriate insurance cover for the student to indemnify ADAPT

Placements are not offered to students:

  • under 18 years of age
  • in secondary school
  • pursuing a counselling qualification and seeking to complete counselling hours for the purposes of accreditation
  • seeking experience outside of a structured training/work experience programme

Student Placement Officer, Child & Youth Service,  ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services, Rosbrien, Limerick

We will contact you on receipt of your application form. Decisions are made on the following basis:

  • applicants meeting the criteria
  • the capacity of ADAPT to accommodate the placement within the timeframe requested
  • an interview with the student to review the application and assess whether ADAPT can meet her/his needs for the placement
  • satisfactory references and Garda vetting
