We promote the rights of all women to learn, achieve and access education and opportunities for personal development
ADAPT have always recognised the importance of education, learning and personal development. Our Training, Education and Development (TED) Service, aims to provide opportunities for women who have experienced domestic abuse/coercive control to access community education, personal development courses and build new social connections.
One-to-One Coaching Service
The purpose of Coaching is to support a person to achieve their goals. These can be personal and/or professional. In a safe environment, the person is supported and guided to develop their self-awareness, skills and resilience.
The role of the coach is to:
- Provide the person with a safe space to think
- By focusing on strengths, support a person to make positive changes
- Facilitates self-reflection/discovery
The one-to-one Coaching sessions focus on the following:
- Career development
- CV & interview skills
- Motivation/focus
- Goal setting
- Personal development
- Managing change
- Emotional/wellbeing support
A timeframe and plan for one-to-one sessions is agreed prior to beginning coaching.
QQI Courses
We run a range of QQI (nationally accredited) and non-accredited courses each year (see calendar).
Classes usually run weekly (excluding holidays) in ADAPT and have approximately 8-10 participants.
Community Education Support
One to one support sessions are available to assist you to access community education throughout Limerick City. In sessions we explore:

- Online or in person courses
- What you need to apply for these courses
- The application processes
Personal Development Workshops
Our personal development workshops offer a safe, and creative space to develop your self-awareness and your self-esteem. Workshops happen once a month for approximately 2 to 3 hours and have different themes. Personal development workshops explore areas such as:
- Wellbeing
- Self-care
- Self-compassion
- Confidence
- Motivation
- Strengths
- Stress management
